Frequently Asked Questions:
You have questions? I have answers. This is a list of the most frequent questions I get regarding my work whether it's about commission work, how the artwork is protected during shipping and while it's on the wall and even how to authenticate an original from a print!

Are you really colorblind?/How can you paint like that if you're colorblind?
Believe it or not, I do get this question even when I have a sign up saying so. And the best way that I can explain how I paint like I do is that God blessed me with the gift of painting. I've drawn for many years and I do believe that that has accounted for part of that ability but painting was very natural for me from the beginning. I have also learned color theory over time through my own research and understanding of how color works and what I've been taught that things look like to those with normal color vision.
What mediums do you use?
I grew up with a #2 pencil in my hand so drawing in graphite is my first love but I am obsessed with oil paint. Occasionally I'll use charcoal, pen and ink, acrylic and watercolor in my work but 99% of the time I'm using either oil or graphite. All graphite works are done on paper and all oil paintings are created on linen panels and canvases that I hand build.
Do you take commission work?
I rarely take commissions these days but when I do, it has to be an exciting idea to me and to also fit the theme of my original works. The reason for the strict acceptance guidelines is because I put every ounce of passion into my work; if I'm painting or drawing something that doesn't excite me, it's hard for me to find room for my passion and creative voice.
Do you sell your work online?
I do! As you have probably noticed about my website, it's not hard to find a contact for me or a way to send me a message. If you find something that you like that has not been archived send me an email, shoot me a text or message me on one of my social media platforms to ask to purchase.
Do you ship?
Yes - shipping and handling rates do apply depending on the size and weight of the piece. For all first time clients, I take care of the shipping and transportation insurance of their first order. These conditions only apply to shipping from my studio; galleries that represent me may ship and charge differently.
Do you sell your work in galleries?
I do though I am not yet represented by a gallery. You can find out more about what galleries are currently showing my work on the "Galleries" tab.
How is your work protected?
All drawings and works on paper are created on acid-free paper to ensure that they do not yellow over time. Drawings are also sealed with a spray on varnish that keeps them from smudging if accidentally rubbed or touched.

All paintings are sealed with a satin varnish that protects them from fading or changing in color over the years.

For archival sake, I do not recommend having any artworks exposed to direct sunlight for extensive periods of time as that could possibly alter their appearance whether it is varnished or not. I also would recommend that drawings be framed with acid-free foam board with glass. For framing paintings, I also recommend acid-free foam board behind the piece, if on a panel, with no glass.
How do I, or anyone else, know if I'm purchasing a print or an original?
Besides being able to see physical marks and strokes on any piece, all artworks, except for studies and plein air pieces, come with a certificate of authenticity describing whether or not your piece is a print or an original.
Do you teach?
I have in the past but not currently.
